Head Injury/Concussion
Head trauma in athletes is a growing and serious concern that deserves greater attention, beginning with improved evaluation and treatment. Concussions are caused by a blow to the head, with or without loss of consciousness.
Symptoms can include:
- Headache
- Memory loss
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Confusion
- Excessive fatigue
Concussions can happen to anyone, in any sport, and often go unnoticed. No matter how it occurred, a suspected concussion is always serious. Dr. Wagner is highly experienced in diagnosing and treating head trauma due to sports injuries and accidents. Returning to sports too soon will only make an athlete’s symptoms last longer, placing him or her at higher risk for more significant injury.
